Telkom has sustained its strong data-led momentum through the third quarter of the 2026 financial year, driven by a surge in mobile subscribers and significant growth in its fibre portfolio. The group reported that data revenue now accounts for a staggering 60% of total group revenue.

Subscriber milestones and data dominance

A major highlight for the period ended 31 December 2025 was the group surpassing the 25 million total mobile subscriber mark. This expansion was spearheaded by a 29.3% increase in mobile data subscribers, now totalling 19.3 million, as customers gravitated toward the bank’s tailored, value-focused plans.

The financial impact of this growth is evident across the group’s core segments:

  •  Group data revenue rose 9.6% to R6 864 million for the quarter, with an 8.5% increase year-to-date.
  •  Mobile data revenue grew by 12.9%, while fibre-related data revenue increased by 8.9%.
